In December Brecon Beacons Young Archaeologists’ Club had a break from our usual sessions and devoted to whole session our Archaeological Christmas Party. We had archaeological games and quizzes galore, prizes and tasty party food.
We played Kim’s Game with archaeological objects and artefacts, so not only did you have to remember what was missing, but also what it was called! We had a run around quiz, with some quite tricky answers, where we had to match up archaeological sites and objects to the their country of origin. We resurrected one of our favorite games of the year playing Find the Ring, which we haven’t played since January. We also had a team quiz based on everything we have learned and explored over the last 12 months.
We had a mystery object quiz with archaeological objects (we very sneakily also put a fossil in too) which took some careful observation and analysis to work what was what, but we cracked it and everyone did very well.
And, we had a 2 minute mummy wrap competition, to see who could make the best mummy, with some very funny results.
All in all, it has been a very busy but a very fun 12 months at Brecons Beacons YAC, and we can’t wait for a whole new year of archaeology and fun!
